Cabrillo Duplex

Located directly behind Venice’s famed Abbot Kinney Blvd, this 3,627 square foot project transforms an existing single-story duplex into a vertical two-unit building: a ground floor unit with a two-story unit above. With a strategic architectural approach, we are able to achieve making each unit feel like a single-family home. The building layout privatizes views and outdoor spaces between the two units, and creates a place where living with nature exists in harmony. The ground floor unit is open and full of natural light with a private yard surrounding it. The upper unit has an open living space with the kitchen as the centerpiece. The upper floor houses bedrooms with vaulted ceilings and strategically placed windows for natural light and privacy.
